Solid waste center starts operations in Baotou
The new Inner Mongolia Huayun New Material Solid Waste Center, located in Baotou in North China's Inner Mongolia, is now up and running. Local officials said that operator Baotou Aluminum Group Thermal Power Plant has made significant progress in its solid waste environmental protection project. The new center covers an area of 155.24 mu or 10.3 hectares and cost more than 100 million yuan ($14.34 million). It includes two 120 meter x 260 m fully enclosed dry ash sheds, with an effective storage capacity of nearly 600,000 cubic meters. [Photo/Baotou Daily]
