IMUST joins forces with Huawei to encourage development

Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology (IMUST) is to cooperate with Huawei Technology Co in talent cultivation, smart campus construction, campus services and improving teachers' practical ability, with a cooperation agreement signed by the two parties on Aug 10, according to Baotou Daily.
At the signing ceremony, Huawei representatives introduced the company's partnerships with domestic and foreign universities, the talent training system of Huawei ICT Academy and Huawei's smart campus solutions. The two sides conducted extensive exchanges on in-depth cooperation.
Established in 1956, IMUST is a key provincial university in Inner Mongolia autonomous region. Undergoing several mergers and name changes over the years, the university got its current name in 2003.
The higher education institution was founded to train engineering experts, at a time when Baotou began to position itself as a principal industrial city in the autonomous region.
Officials said that after half a century of continuous construction and development, IMUST has evolved into a multi-disciplinary university characterized by its specialty academic programs, such as metallurgy, mining, and coal and rare earth research and applications.
