New hospital to open by year-end in Baotou, Inner Mongolia

The Shiguai District People's Hospital in Baotou’s Shiguai district, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is scheduled to open at the end of 2020, with construction on the project accelerating, according to local media reports.

The hospital is being built following the construction standards of a second-class general hospital. It will focus on the rehabilitation of vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly and the disabled.

Upon completion, it will be the only hospital in the city that combines health and elderly care services.

The hospital’s first phase will boast 100 beds and 30 departments, including a fever clinic, gastrointestinal clinic, gynecology (obstetrics) clinic, pediatrics ward, surgery (orthopedics) area, internal medicine (psychiatry, geriatrics) area and emergency department (IUC).

The new healthcare facility will offer a range of services covering gastrointestinal endoscopy, geriatric diseases, rehabilitation treatment and health check-ups.
