Baotou to add hot spring leisure project

The Xiaobaihe Hot Spring Water World Project is stepping up its construction in Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, with five major components basically completed, according to a Baotou Daily report on Sept 4.

The attraction is expected to be officially opened in June 2021. After going into operation, it will be a water world combining entertainment and leisure, with the largest scale, highest specifications, and most complete facilities in Northwest China.

The Xiaobaihe Hot Spring Water World Project covers an area of 844 mu (56.27 hectares), with a total construction area of 88,000 square meters. The planned investment is 3 billion yuan ($439 million). The project is being constructed in two phases.

The first phase of the project covers an area of 486 mu, with a planned investment of 2 billion yuan and a construction area of 68,000 square meters. It's primarily comprised of water parks, ecological hot springs, hot spring hotels, ecological parking lots and traffic landscape corridors.

The second phase of the project covers an area of 358 mu, with a planned investment of 1 billion yuan and a construction area of about 20,000 square meters. It will mainly consist of museums and indoor ski resorts.
