Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has been making progress in developing its entire rare earth industry chain, with two fully automatic electroplating production lines operating at full capacity, according to local media reports.
The two production lines, developed by Baotou Huizhong Cigu Rare Earth Technology Co, mark the highest level of domestic electroplating production lines.
According to company officials, the two production lines have been running smoothly since being put into production in July this year. Orders have been arranged to the end of the year, and the output value this year may reach 30 million yuan ($4.40 million).
The two production lines have advantages such as high degree of automation, good product consistency and stability. Compared with ordinary electroplating, they can save 80 percent of labor costs, and the salt spray time of metal surface coating can be increased by 33.3 percent.
The products created by the production lines have high technology content and good product performance, and are well received by the market.

The zone has accelerated the establishment of the nation's largest electroplating and most complete rare earth new material industrial base with a construction area of 230,000 square meters, including 45 production workshops.
With the completion of the base, it has not only broken through the bottleneck of the rare earth industry to the terminal, but also filled the gap in Baotou rare earth electroless plating.
At present, more than 20 enterprises have settled in the base.
More enterprises are to be introduced to the base, and by 2022, the output vale of the base is expected to hit 7 billion yuan.
