Innovation & Entrepreneurship Week opens in Baotou

The 2020 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week was officially launched in Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Oct 15, with more than 200 innovative technology products in more than 100 categories on display, according to local media reports.

The event attracted the participation of more than 30 companies and four colleges and universities.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship week is an annual event held with the support of the State Council, starting in 2015. It is meant to spur innovation and stimulate the local economy.

This year's activities include exhibitions of achievements, manufacturer forums, and competitions, which will be held throughout the week.

This year, Baotou city has made progress in innovation and entrepreneurship.

As of the end of April, 29,600 more urban residents had found employment in the city. A total of 11,900 people achieved re-employment during the period. And a total of 5,358 people with chronic difficulties in finding employment were hired during the period.

Also, a number of key R&D and transformation projects have been implemented in the city. Projects including the development and industrialization of negative pressure ambulances have been included in the 100 Cities and 100 Parks action plan, a key national initiative jointly launched by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Finance.
