N China's Baotou advances rare earth development

Updated: 2020-10-30

Serving as a base for rare earth development, Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone has accelerated the establishment of the nation's largest and most complete electroplating and rare earth new material industrial base, with a construction area of 230,000 square meters, including 45 production workshops.

With the completion of the base, it has not only broken through the terminal "bottleneck" of the rare earth industry, but also filled the gap in Baotou's rare earth electroless plating.

To date, more than 20 enterprises have settled in the base.

More enterprises are to be introduced to the base, and by 2022, the output vale of the base is expected to hit 7 billion yuan ($1.05 billion).

The zone has established a rare earth big data center. It has developed a big data public support service platform for scientific research and industrial development in the field of rare earth, which is open for use by scientific research institutes and enterprises.

Combined with the city's industrial characteristics, the Rare Earth Center Innovation Industrial Park and the Chinese Academy of Sciences No 1 and No 2 industrial bases have been planned and constructed to provide an independent dedicated achievement transformation base for the pilot tesingt and industrialization of technological achievements.
