Baotou records economic rebound in first 10 months

The city of Baotou, in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, reported steady industrial economic growth in the first 10 months of 2020, with the added value of its industries above a designated size increasing by 11.1 percent year-on-year, according to the city's statistics bureau.
The figure saw Baotou city rank second among the 12 leagues and cities in the autonomous region.
In terms of three categories in particular, during the period, the added value of the mining industry increased by 22.2 percent year-on-year; the manufacturing industry increased by 9.1 percent; and the production and supply of electricity, heat, gas and water increased by 9.7 percent.
The growth rate of private industry and high-tech industry has also been accelerated.
Between January and October, the added value of private industry in the city increased by 14.6 percent year-on-year, 1.2 percentage points higher than that of the previous three quarters, and 3.5 percentage points higher than the growth rate of the added value of its industries above a designated size.
The city's fixed asset investment increased by 0.1 percent year-on-year, marking positive growth for the first time this year. Among this investment, real estate development investment increased by 9 percent.
