Baotou stages rousing concert to greet New Year

The 23rd Baotou New Year Concert took place in Baotou city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Dec 29, heralding the upcoming New Year in a rousing fashion, according to a report in the Baotou Daily.
This marked the first concert of the Baotou Symphony Orchestra's 2020/2021 Symphony Season. The orchestra was conducted by Li Haoran.
The concert highlighted the auspicious and peaceful atmosphere of the New Year. The music covered a range of classical genres. Overtures, concertos and waltzes were performed, composed by the likes of John Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak and others.
In the 2020/2021 Symphony Season, the Baotou Symphony Orchestra will play classical works, popular music and movie music, as well as presenting audio-visual extravaganzas.
