Baotou takes measures to promote agriculture
In 2020, in response to the need to develop agriculture and animal husbandry, Baotou in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has further integrated scientific and technological resources and promoted the application of new crop varieties and technologies, as recognized by agricultural and animal husbandry producers, according to Baotou Daily.
Relying on the existing technology in dominant varieties such as tomato, strawberry, corn, and mutton sheep, the city strengthened its independent research and development of new varieties.
The city has increased its cooperation with scientific research institutions such as the China Agricultural University, Sichuan Agricultural University, and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, forming a group of experts and scholars and creating new varieties, technologies, and cooperation projects.
The city also integrated and utilized existing resources and built demonstration bases to realize the transformation and commercialization of research results.
In terms of the planting industry, Baotou has built five corn and soybean interplanting bases in Tumd Right Banner, and five potato and five dry farming demonstration bases in Guyang county.
In terms of facility agriculture, five high-efficiency facility agriculture demonstration bases have been built in Donghe district, Jiuyuan district, and Guyang county.
Baotou city has integrated the strength of 280 agricultural technicians in the city, banners (counties and districts), and organized its technical guidance teams by region and industry.
In addition, the city has also strengthened the training of farmers and herdsmen to improve their overall quality. By hosting related training sessions and competitions, more than 2,000 high-quality farmers and herdsmen are trained annually.
