Baotou, a city in  North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, was selected as one of the pilot cities in the "Innovation China" platform, which was created by the China Association for Science and Technology, on Jan 18, according to local media reports.

Aimed at bolstering the in-depth integration between economy and innovation, Innovation China is a platform for technological services and business, featuring resources integration, as well as supply and demand matchmaking. 

To fulfill Baotou's future role as a pilot city, the local government will roll out a specific plan and take initiatives to promote cooperation among high-end research-and-development institutions, such as the cooperation between outstanding universities and renowned companies. The government will also strengthen organizational and systematic innovations.
