The Baotou Bonded Logistics Center (B Type) -- in Baotou city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region -- recently secured a premium-quality export order, shipping 35 tons of cashmere yarn and velvet-blended yarn products to the island nation of Madagascar off the coast of East Africa, according to local media reports.

The cashmere yarn and velvet-blended yarn products produced by Inner Mongolia Kingdeer Cashmere Co, were declared to customs at the logistics center and then shipped to Madagascar through Shanghai Port in East China.

The order was executed in two stages. On Dec 24 the first batch of 17.7 tons, valued at 13.34 million yuan ($2.06 million), was exported and the second batch was shipped through the Baotou logistics center on Dec 29.

A recent declaration reportedly showed that the bonded logistics park is now operational and this is expected to have far-reaching significance in terms of promoting the development of the city's export-oriented economy.

The bonded logistics park, located in the Jiuyuan (International) Logistics Park in Baotou, was established in May 2020.

Since its establishment, it has stimulated the region's import-export trade, as well as investment that will promote further expansion and increased operations of the facility.

To date, the logistics center has handled imports and exports worth 305 million yuan and its functional advantages have been fully demonstrated. It has not only improved the efficiency of the entry and exit of goods, but also reduced the operating costs of businesses.
