During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Baotou in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region will continue to promote the process of its modernization -- with four bases, two centers, one highland and one system to be developed in the city.
That's according to Meng Fanli, secretary of the CPC Baotou Municipal Committee, who used the concept of "four cities" to recently outline Baotou city in the new era: an influential regional economic center city, an innovative and entrepreneurial city that Baotou people are proud of and love to enjoy, a beautiful livable city, as well as a happy and safe city.
Baotou will focus on the construction of an important new-type materials industrial base, a modern energy industrial base, a modern equipment manufacturing industrial base and an agricultural and livestock food industrial base whose influence extends to the country.
It will build a regional service industry center and a regional innovation center, as well as speed up the construction of a new highland for its opening up and a modern economic system.
Since last year, Baotou has proposed creating a first-class business environment in the country.
The city was chosen as one of the Top 10 Chinese Cities (Cases) for Business Environment of 2020.
Meng Fanli said that the business environment of Baotou is improving rapidly, but there are still some shortcomings that need to be resolved.
To further enhance the city's business environment, efforts should be made in promoting the government environment, legal environment and industry environment, Meng added.
