With the arrival of autumn, grasslands in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region are approaching grass-mowing season, according to information from the Inner Mongolia Meteorological Administration.
In 2021, areas in Inner Mongolia that can meet conditions for grass mowing is 296,100 square kilometers, mainly distributed in Hulunbuir city, Hinggan League, the northern part of Tongliao city, Chifeng city, and pastoral areas in the middle and east of Xiliin Gol League.
The total area of suitable grass-mowing areas this year has increased by 21,800 sq km over previous years.

The main reason for the increase in the area of grass-mowing grounds is that the Hulunbuir grassland has balanced rain and heat, and the pastures are growing well.
Recently, in some areas in Hulunbuir Grassland and the Xiliin Gol Grassland, grass has been able to be stored and harvested, while the main pastures of the Xiliin Gol Grassland have begun having their grass mowed since Aug 20.
It takes about three to five days to dry the forages after harvesting to prevent rain from drenching the forages and causing mold and rot, which will affect the quality and nutritional value of the forages.
