Baotou launches 2021 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week

Baotou in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region launched its 2021 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week on Oct 19, marking the sixth time the annual event has been held, according to local media reports.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week is an event held with the support of the State Council and is meant to spur innovation and stimulate the local economy.
This year's activities include exhibitions of achievements, manufacturer forums, and competitions, which will be held throughout the week running until Oct 25.
As part of the first group of 20 innovative pilot cities in the country, Baotou has in recent years vigorously promoted mass entrepreneurship and innovation, continued to optimize the environment for innovation and entrepreneurship, and successively introduced a series of policies and measures related to science and technology, talent, employment and entrepreneurship.
The National Rare Earth Functional Materials Innovation Center was recently established in the city, and key state laboratories of Baogang Group and Inner Mongolia First Machinery Group were approved for construction.
Currently, there are 216 national high-tech enterprises in the city.
