Baotou implements projects to improve environmental quality
Baotou in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has been making efforts to protect the environment, with 100 projects worth 7.9 billion yuan ($1.24 billion) confirmed for the current year, reports Baotou Daily.
By the end of October, 39 projects had been completed, with an investment of 3.1 billion yuan.
Baotou has already implemented measures to control industrial pollution. At present, 24 projects, including Baogang Group's ultra-low emission transformation, have been completed, while another 24 projects, including Shenhua VOC treatment, are currently under construction.
The projects are intended to promote carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
Baotou has taken the lead in applying for a national climate change investment and financing pilot, and established a climate change and low-carbon development project database. So far, a total of 37 projects have been included in the database, with a total investment of 2.6 billion yuan, ranking first in the autonomous region.
The city has also helped local enterprises to obtain financial support, and has received environmental protection funds worth 485 million yuan for 84 major projects.
