Despite frigid weather, construction on the 220KV power transmission project was still in full swing in the Baotou Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

The project, conducted by Inner Mongolia Power (Group) Co Ltd, was designed to meet the power needs of major projects in Baotou. With a planned investment of 191 million yuan ($29.98 million), the project was initiated this September and was originally expected to be completed by May 2023. However, to meet the urgent needs of some park-based projects and heating for residents, it will speed up construction this winter and advance its deadline to October 2022.

To guarantee the project is built in a safe and efficient manner, schedules and task assignment were made. The project received an investment of 26 million yuan in the first 20 days since initiation, and the number was expected to reach 67 million yuan by the end of this year.

The smart visualized management system based on Internet of Things technology was employed at the construction site to optimize operation procedures and save on labor and material costs. Thanks to the system, the project department improved its capacity in safety and quality supervision to deal with safety threats more efficiently.

By early October 2022, the project will start delivering power to provide sound support for the city's social and economic development.
