Mayors' meeting acts to boost regional integrated development

A joint meeting of the mayors of Hohhot, Baotou, Ordos and Wuhai cities in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region -- and the city of Yulin in Northwest China's Shaanxi province -- was held in Baotou on Dec 25, in an initiative designed to boost the region's economy, among other things.
The top officials agreed to improve their joint planning policy system, make greater efforts to promote infrastructure interconnections -- as well as to implement stricter measures to strengthen the joint protection and treatment of the ecological system and the region's environment.

Meanwhile, plans are for the cities to promote collaborative innovation in industrial development to a higher standard, as well as to speed up the sharing of public services and conduct joint efforts to build a metropolitan area, as well as increase their integration.
They also signed the "2021-2022 Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Wuhai Integrated Development Key Matters Cooperation Agreement", the "2021-2022 Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomeration Key Cooperation Agreement" and the "Framework Agreement on Opening Cuted Roads Among Hohhot, Baotou, Ordos and Wuhai Cities.
Another seven special action plans on advancing the industrial internet and the integrated development of infrastructure, opening up, as well as tourism and cultural development, were issued at the meeting.
