Baotou releases top 10 technological achievements of 2021
Baotou in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has released its top 10 scientific and technological achievements of 2021, according to Baotou Daily.
1. In August, the "Baotou Regional Innovation Center Construction Plan (2021-2025)" was issued. Baotou has taken the lead in the construction of a regional innovation center in the country.
2. On Dec 22, the Baotou municipal government and Beijing partners signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Baotou, marking the official start of the construction of the Baotou-Beijing Zhongguancun Science and Technology Innovation Base.
3. In December, Baotou National Agricultural Science and Technology Park was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

4. On Nov 18, the Baotou Research Institute of Rare Earth established a new branch in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, which will serve as another innovation hub for the rare earth sector in the country.
5. On Oct 15, the National Special Hydraulic Pump and Valve Localization Research and Innovation Consortium was established in Baotou.
6. In late December, Baotou's first magnetics and magnetic component application academician (foreign) workstation was established.

7. On July 31, Baogang Group, the largest iron and steel manufacturer based in the autonomous region, started construction on a comprehensive utilization project for carbonized steel slag. It is the world's first comprehensive utilization project for solid waste and carbon dioxide mineralization.
8. From Oct 21 to 27, four major scientific and technological achievements including "R&D and Application of Rare Earth Special Steel" appeared on behalf of the autonomous region at the National "13th Five-Year Plan (2021-25)" Scientific and Technological Innovation Achievement Exhibition.

9. Beiben Trucks Group Co, a Chinese heavy-duty truck producer, launched a new vehicle powered by 100-kilowatt hydrogen fuel cells.
The truck, to be used as a street sweeper, rolled off the production line on March 1 in Beiben's plant in Baotou in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
10. In 2021, scientific and technological workers in Baotou worked hard to win a number of honors. A total of 23 scientific and technological achievements in Baotou won the 2020 Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Science and Technology Award.
