Baotou city – located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – recently released its top 10 highlights in terms of its foreign trade in 2021, according to reports in the Baotou Daily.

1. According to statistics released by Baotou customs, from January to November in 2021, the total value of imports and exports was 22.47 billion yuan ($3.55 billion), a year-on-year increase of 59 percent, accounting for 20.06 percent of the total foreign trade of the autonomous region.

The city's total imports and exports value ranked first in the autonomous region.

2. On June 30, 2021, the National Foreign Trade Transformation and Upgrading Base (Equipment Manufacturing) in the Qingshan district of Baotou city was shortlisted on the list of national foreign trade transformation and upgrading bases issued by the Ministry of Commerce.

3. The Baotou-based Baogang Group became the first enterprise with an operating income exceeding 100 billion yuan in the autonomous region.

4. Inner Mongolia North Hauler Joint Stock Co advanced on the list of Top 50 Global Construction Machinery, moving up two places.

5. Hongyuan New Materials Baotou Co was selected as a national green factory.

6. Inner Mongolia King Deer Cashmere Co successfully passed a customs advanced certification audit – to be an Authorized Enterprise Organization, or AEO – and benefitted from facilitation measures such as priority customs clearances and reduced inspection rates and fast customs clearances.

7. The Baotou Inst Magnetics New Material Co was selected in the third batch of national "little giant" enterprises. So-called little giants are usually referred to as being "professional, sophisticated, distinctive and modern" and generally have strong business performances, advanced science and technology, a mature management system, strong market competitiveness and great development potential.

8. Baotou Tianhe Magnets Co was awarded the 2020 Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Chairman Quality Award. 

9. Baotou Aluminum Group was awarded the Organization Award for the 19th National Quality Award.

10. Beifang Rare Earth Group Technology Co won the 2021 Rare Earth Science and Technology Award.
