Mongolian medicine developed in Baotou to prevent COVID-19

Updated: 2022-03-03

The 800 copies of anti-epidemic medicinal tea and 50 copies of Mongolian medicines developed by Baotou Mongolian Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital were sent to Baotou epidemic prevention and control headquarters on Feb 27 and 28.

With the emergence of new COVID-19 cases in Baotou on Feb 18, the hospital made use of the unique advantages of traditional Chinese medicine and Mongolian medicine to develop a preventative decoction to help those on the front lines of the battle against the pandemic.

The anti-epidemic medicinal tea was formulated by Meng Yingxue – director of the Baotou institute of Chinese and Mongolian medicine, and was revised by an expert group before the anti-epidemic prescription was finalized.

The Mongolian medicinal tea and medicine mainly prevent COVID-19 by improving the body's immune functions.

Most of the medical staff members at the hospital were transferred to help administer nucleic acid tests for residents. The rest of the staff members continued with the hospital's normal diagnosis and treatment work and prepared anti-epidemic medicinal tea. All of them contributed to the prevention and control of the epidemic.
