Baotou city's employment levels increase
Employment has improved over the past two months in the city of Baotou – located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – in the wake of a series of measures and innovations rolled out by the municipal government.
By the end of February, 8,121 new urban jobs were reportedly created in the city in the two-month period, a year-on-year increase of 11.84 percent.
In addition, 3,672 unemployed people found jobs, up 10.07 percent and 1,587 people with employment difficulties were employed, a year-on-year increase of 3.39 percent.
To improve the supply and demand tracking services of local companies, the city's human resources and social employment department is understood to have focused on key industries – including new materials, modern energy, modern equipment manufacturing, and agricultural and livestock food production. It also closely looked at the employment needs of 1,617 newly established projects.
Moreover, the city was actively involved in human resources and hiring through online live broadcasts and online job fairs. It carried out a total of 35 activities, as well as disseminated recruitment information and details about 30,000 available positions.
Baotou also held seven special job fairs and helped coordinate the hiring of more than 4,000 people for key enterprises – including Shuangliang Group, Xinte Energy Co, and Hongyuan New Materials Co.
In addition, the city's human resources and social employment department worked with leading HR companies to help with the inter-provincial transfers of jobs and identify which people were willing to transfer and train in rural areas.
