Spring ploughing starts in Baotou
Farming season is arriving with the approach of spring. Baotou's districts and counties have all started spring ploughing work.
As a major agricultural county, Guyang has used WeChat groups and loudspeakers to widely publicize production requirements and precautions for spring ploughing, guiding farmers in the growing of corn, potatoes and other food crops with agricultural subsidies.
Tumd Right Banner arranged for 35 village collective economic organizations to manage 80,000 mu (about 5,333 hectares) of land through land transfers, shareholding and dividends. It aims for the large-scale development of corn and soybean belt-shaped compound planting, which is expected to increase the village's collective economy by 1.7 million yuan ($266,590) per year.
In addition, the banner arranged for farmers to purchase 107,600 metric tons of agricultural supplies such as fertilizers and seeds online to meet spring farming needs.
Shiguai district conducted a survey on agricultural supplies needed for more than 22,460 mu of land. Leaders of the district mobilized the majority of farmers to carry out straw stubble, plastic film cleaning operations, and greenhouse planting.
As a major vegetable production area of the city, Donghe district has adopted an "online + offline" model to teach agricultural techniques. So far, two special training lectures have been carried out, benefiting 246 farmers.
To open a green channel for trucks transporting agricultural materials, the district contacted gas stations and fertilizer companies within its jurisdiction and intends to reduce the price of diesel oil by 0.8 yuan per ton and fertilizer by 80-400 yuan per ton during spring ploughing season.
