Baotou's efforts to attract more investment has significant progress as part of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region's strategy to promote local development.

The Service Industry High Quality Development Promotion Conference was held on Wednesday across the region, including Baotou, one of its largest industrial cities, to promote local investment.

Baotou has inked 26 projects with a total contract investment of 43.75 billion yuan ($6.87 billion). Investors include one Fortune 500 company, two top 500 companies in China, and one Top 500 private company in China. Two of them signed at the main venue of the autonomous region, with a contract investment of 2.1 billion yuan. In addition, 24 projects were signed in the Baotou branch venue, with a contract investment of 41.65 billion yuan.

The 26 signed projects involve various industries including trade and logistics, modern services, modern finance, new energy, tourism and modern agriculture.

As of March 31, Baotou had attracted a total of 1,422 companies for local investment, with 387 projects signed and a total contract investment of 382.68 billion yuan. Many of those investors are top 500 companies. Twenty-three are listed companies.
