Baotou bureau issues funding of $67m to support education
The Baotou bureau of finance recently issued 430 million yuan ($67.54 million) of funds from the central government in the field of education, to be allocated in the city – located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
The urban and rural compulsory education subsidy funds are being directly funded by the central government to the tune of 199 million yuan, to ensure that the teaching work of compulsory education schools in the city is carried out adequately.
The bureau issued 111 million yuan of direct central funds to subsidize students from ordinary high schools, secondary vocational schools and colleges and universities – ensuring that students from families with financial difficulties can complete their studies and have a fair education.
A total of 57.64 million yuan from the central government supported the reform and development of local colleges and universities. This will be used for the development of teaching experimental platforms, scientific research platforms, practice centers and teaching staff in two undergraduate colleges.
In addition, the bureau issued 62.07 million yuan to help the city's secondary and higher vocational schools deepen their integration of production and education, school-enterprise cooperation and to promote the quality and excellence of vocational education.
