Shiguai district of Baotou city – located in Inner Mongolia autonomous region – is widely said to be successfully relying on its environment and culture, in order to galvanize its rural vitalization.
Gai Lianyu, secretary of the Shiguai district Party committee, said in a recent interview with Baotou Radio and Television Station that things were currently going very well.
He said that in line with the plans of the Party committee and the municipal government, the sown area for grain in the district had increased by 15 percent in the current year and the scale of agricultural mechanization had increased seven-fold, with big increases in livestock keeping and abattoir production.
The district is expanding the scale of its food processing parks and is actively developing its pre-prepared vegetables and pet food industries. It is also implementing a cultural industry rural vitalization program, with the construction of the Daqingshan area military base and film and television industry production centers.
In the meantime, five demonstration villages are showing the way forward, as well as accelerating the development of rural e-commerce, to encourage farmers to start businesses and create employment and boost incomes.
In addition, the district is launching its Wudang Grain Products brands, developing two leading enterprises and is continuing to expand its collective economy.
