The groundbreaking ceremony for the Darhan Muminggan Joint Banner Zero-Carbon Park project was held in Baotou on April 17.
The ceremony was carried out both online and offline. The Darhan Muminggan Joint Banner Zero-Carbon Park and steel rare earth processing park of the local industrial park have set up branch venues, and a main venue in the urban area has been set up to observe the construction of the branch venues through video.
The construction of a zero-carbon park in the banner is in response to the major strategic decision of the CPC Central Committee to achieve peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality, an initiative that Baotou hopes to become a leading city for.
In addition, the park is meant to help take advantage of regional and industrial resources and strengthen energy production reforms, energy consumption reforms, and green production and lifestyle efforts.
The zero-carbon park has been approved by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Department of Industry and Information Technology and the Inner Mongolia bureau of energy. It is part of the first batch of autonomous region's and the only zero-carbon park in Baotou.
Construction on the Yuanjing Zero-Carbon Industrial Park, Jinebo Fluorine Chemical Park, and Haida Battery Anode Materials Park has been officially launched as well.
