Baotou – located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – launched a comprehensive renovation of the city's appearance and environment on April 12 to create a more civilized Baotou with a beautiful environment, better infrastructure and smoother roads.
The goal is to eliminate illegal construction on the sides of roads and establish a control system. Targeted and differentiated demolitions, restorations and security measures will be taken to deal with related issues.
The city has severely cracked down on road-blocking business practices in accordance with the law. Convenience markets and morning and night markets will be set up in an orderly manner and mobile vendors will be directed to enter the market and operate according to regulations.
Overall environmental sanitation improvement was carried out as well. Baotou will intensify efforts to clean roads and crack down on private garbage dumps and private charging.
The city will also repair bus stations and build new ones on roads that lack them.
In addition, fitness equipment in the city that is damaged or otherwise unusable will be repaired or replaced with new facilities.
