Construction on the secondary and steel structures for the Shahu, Huinongnan and Shizuishannan stations of the Huiyin section of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-speed Railway – constructed by China Railway Construction Engineering Group – is now underway.
Shizuishannan Station has a total construction area of 7,985 square meters, with three platforms and seven lines.
Shahu Station is located on the west side of the Sand Lake Scenic Spot, a national 5A-level tourist attraction. It has a total construction area of 2,999 sq m and features two platforms and four lines.
Huinongnan Station has a total construction area of 5,926 sq m, with two platforms and six lines.
The Baotou-Yinchuan High-speed Railway has a total length of 519 kilometers and a designed speed of 250 kilometers per hour. This line is an important part of the Beijing-Lanzhou channel, one of the main channels among China's eight vertical and eight horizontal high-speed railways.
After the completion of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-speed Railway, the journey from Yinchuan to Beijing will be shortened from 16 hours to five hours – which will speed up economic and social development along the line and contribute to the "great western development strategy".
