The signing ceremony for the deepening cooperation agreement between Beifang Rare Earth Group Technology Co and Lanzhou University, the academic forum on the high-value utilization of high-abundance rare earth elements, and the construction seminar of the Bayan Obo Rare Earth Resources Research and Comprehensive Utilization State Key Laboratory were held at the Baotou Rare Earth Research Institute on May 10.

At the academic forum, six experts and scholars made academic reports on high-abundance rare earth elements and the research and development and application of rare earth materials.

At the seminar, Liu Jianjun, deputy director of the State key laboratory, reported on the construction of the laboratory, and leaders among the experts at the meeting participated in discussions and delivered speeches.

Yan Chunhua, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and president of Lanzhou University, attended the signing ceremony and forum and visited some rare earth enterprises and scientific research institutions in the rare earth industry in Baotou to inspect them after the events.

Yan said that the rare earth industry in Baotou has now reached a new stage of accumulation and improvement.  

Representatives of Lanzhou University stated that the unviersity will take this cooperation as a new opportunity to realize Baotou's beautiful vision for the development of the rare earth industry by promoting the research, development and application of rare earth resources in Baotou and the construction of the State key laboratory.
