Baotou city – located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – is an important energy, raw materials, rare earths, new coal chemicals and equipment manufacturing center in both the country and autonomous region.

In order to accelerate the recruitment of international talents to Hondlon district of Baotou, the city will hold the 2022 China Baotou Hondlon District Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.

Details are as follows:

Entry requirements

1. The enterprise owns intellectual property rights and has no property rights disputes.

2. The founder of the enterprise project must have obtained a master's degree or above at home and abroad and be under the age of 55.

3. The competition is aimed at projects such as new energy, new materials, high-end equipment manufacturing, deep metal processing and deep rare earths processing.

4. Participants, who have not registered and established an enterprise in Baotou with their participating projects before May 1, must intend to set up an innovation and entrepreneurship project in the city within one year after the competition.

Incentive policy

The competition will select 10 key high-quality projects to advance to the finals, which will award two first prizes, three second prizes and five third prizes.

The winning projects of the participating teams will be implemented in the district within one year after the competition and the following policy support can be obtained:

1. Up to 3 million yuan ($449,610) in innovation and entrepreneurship capital support provided for the winning projects.

2. Subsidized loans of 3-6 million yuan can be issued.

3. The project can use the lowest electricity price.

4. Talent who settle full-time in the district can enjoy a 50-percent discount if they purchase their first residential house below 150 square meters.

5. Teams with independent intellectual property rights or core technologies and established enterprises will be given comprehensive project funding support of 50-80 million yuan; Baotou will provide team leaders with 200 sq m of housing, or rental subsidies for the same square meters; leaders who will work in Baotou for five years and make outstanding contributions to the city can receive free housing.

6. Government will provide 1-20 million yuan of financial support to individuals or teams that bring significant economic and social benefits.
