Baotou group's rare earth project gets national acceptance
A standardization demonstration project for rare earth smelting energy conservation, being undertaken by Beifang Rare Earth Group Technology Co – based in Baotou city, in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – recently passed national evaluation and acceptance.
The evaluation and acceptance team focused on assessing the progress made, the completion of planned tasks, the construction of a standard system and the implementation of standards.
In the event, it affirmed the project's organization, development and achievements.
It is understood that in the wake of the project being approved, the company established a standardization work lead group composed of energy management personnel and technical personnel from functional departments and appointed the energy manager as team leader.
The project's implementation is being developed in the areas of production technology, energy-saving technology, energy-saving management and equipment management. A four-level energy-saving standardized management network of departments, production plants and workshops has been formed.
An energy-saving standard system table, including 87 energy-saving standards has been established. Some 57 sets of energy measuring instruments were added and the energy consumption per unit product was decreased. In addition, the unit consumption of natural gas for the roasting kiln decreased, while the unit consumption of natural gas for the burning kiln decreased.
For three consecutive years, the enterprise has carried out energy-saving standardization training. It has trained more than 330 people and formulated and revised 14 international, national, industry and group standards.
