Baotou has focused on promoting high-quality agriculture in recent years.

In the midsummer season of this year, at the high-efficiency demonstration and promotion base of corn and soybean strip compound planting technology in the city's Weijun village, under the "corn + soybean" planting model, an extra season of soybeans is harvested on the condition that the corn yield is not reduced, ensuring a stable and high yield of grain.

The sown area of grain in the city has remained at more than 3 million mu (200,000 hectares) year-round, and the output has remained at more than 1 billion kilograms. Grain production has been seeing bumper harvests year after year.

The city's high-efficiency facility agricultural area has reached 50,000 mu, and the vegetable planting area has reached about 224,000 mu. Last year, 1.15 million metric tons of various fruits and vegetables were produced, an increase of 196,000 tons compared with 10 years ago.

Over the course of 10 years, the city's industrial scale and quality have increased, focusing on brand building, strengthening agricultural and animal husbandry scientific and technological support, and continuously improving the quality and safety supervision and traceability system of agricultural and livestock products.

In addition, Baotou has taken firm steps on the road to rural vitalization: targeted industrial development has assisted in poverty alleviation, the living environment of rural areas has been continuously improved, and the reform of key areas of agriculture and animal husbandry in rural areas has yielded fruitful results.
