Baotou is on the move, gearing up to offer a range of attractive incentives to in-demand personnel in key sectors to come and base themselves in the city, located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

A number of municipal departments in Baotou recently jointly issued a circular to boost support for the recruitment and training of mid to top talent in key industrial fields including new materials, modern energy, modern equipment manufacturing, and agricultural and livestock processing.

The city will launch income tax incentives for mid to high-end talent in the targeted sectors from July 1. 

Those in demand include those with high-level talent service cards, major persons in charge and technicians who have worked at least two consecutive years in high-tech enterprises paying taxes of more than 10 million yuan ($1.49 million), or have newly established high-tech enterprises.

A maximum annual reward amount of 500,000 yuan will be given to each of them for three consecutive years.
