Baotou cooperated with Beijing Huamu Co this year to use more than 50 kinds of flowers and grasses to decorate streets of the city.
At 6 pm on June 25, a flower bed art work at the exit of Gangtie Street, which had just been completed in less than three hours, attracted the attention of many passersby, who decided to stop and take photos.
This flower bed was the first of three large flower beds and 15 street corner landscapes to be built in the district this year. It is seven meters high, covers an area of 150 square meters, and uses more than 40 kinds of plants.
"Three-dimensional flower beds and flower carvings are a bold innovation. Taking the flower beds here as an example, from the initial design and landscaping to the selection of flower materials, lighting, and installation of water systems, there are great changes. It is hoped that the artistic effect of these changes will improve the scenery of the business district and square," said Wu Liyun, deputy director of the Hondlon district bureau of housing and urban-rural development.
