Improving resource utilization and pursuing green and high-end development of the rare earth industry has continued to be the development path of the Baotou Rare Earth High-tech Industrial Development zone – located in Baotou city, in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

Many green factories, green products and green supply chain enterprises in the zone have become industry demonstrations and the zone's industrial park was approved as a green industrial park in 2021.

"The rare-earth magnetized water heater we produce has a unique magnetic circuit design and the water is not easy to scale," said a senior executive of Baotou Inst Magnetic New Materials Co.

"Even if a small amount of scale is formed, it can gradually become loose under the action of strong magnetism, avoiding pollution to the environment," he added.

Baotou Tianhe Magnetic Materials Technology Co has invested significant funds in informatization and intelligent construction and continued to increase investment with an average annual growth rate of 30-50 percent. With the upgrading of new equipment, automation and intelligence and the application of green energy-saving technology, it was awarded "Baotou Intelligent Manufacturing Demonstration Enterprise".

Moving forwards, the zone will continue to explore the high-quality development path of scientific and technological innovation and boost the green transformation and sustainable development of rare earth.
