55 projects receive $12b in investment in Baotou

At the project signing ceremony of the Second Modern Energy Industry Development Conference held in Baotou on July 24, agreements for 55 projects with a total investment of 82.73 billion yuan ($12.25 billion) were signed.
The contracted projects involve 12 fields related to the modern energy industry, including new energy equipment manufacturing, new materials, modern energy service platforms, new energy infrastructure construction, crystalline silicon new materials, new energy industry-university-research, new energy comprehensive utilization, resource recycling, hydrogen energy, environmental protection, and intelligent manufacturing.
At the conference, Guangdong Weill Holding Group Co signed a contract with Hondlon district in Baotou on a third-generation semiconductor chip industry project for intelligent manufacturing, with a contract amount of 1.5 billion yuan.
Li Huiquan, chairman of Weill, said that Baotou has a particularly good business environment and is rich in new energy resources. The company's project is expected to generate an output value of 14 billion yuan in the next five years.
Moving forward, Baotou will strive to peak carbon emissions by 2026 and build itself into a pioneer and model city for peaking carbon emissions and achieving carbon neutrality.
