At the recent "China Weather" Solar Term Golden Card Resource Conference hosted by the Central Meteorological Observatory, Baotou won the national title of "City with the Best Weather for Living and Traveling" in 2021.

Baotou won the same title in 2020, as well as the "China Blue Sky City" title in 2018. 

The selection was conducted through a combination of audience voting, urban climate data analysis and expert professional review. This award helps to promote Baotou's urban ecology, culture and tourism through the official certification of the Central Meteorological Observatory.

Since 2002, Baotou has continued to create city business cards and display the achievements of ecological civilization construction through China Central Television's Weather Forecast and other columns – effectively expanding the coverage of Baotou's weather forecast dissemination, comprehensively enhancing its popularity, boosting the stable development of Baotou's tourism industry, and creating a good environment for the city to attract investment.
