It was learned from the Baotou City Art Theater a few days ago that Zheng Li, a young Manhan Opera actor (Manhan is an emerging local opera produced in Baotou) at the theater, participated in the 2022 Chinese Operas Festival as the only representative of Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

The 2022 Chinese Operas Festival is hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Activities focused on the exhibition of outstanding plays by leading talent, support for plays that are dying out, and the performance of stunts and skills.

The event opened in Kunshan city, Jiangsu province on Aug 13. Zheng and outstanding opera talent from all over the country presented an opera extravaganza to the audience over the course of a month.

In addition, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism launched the "National Opera Performing Leading Talent Training Program" to select a total of 54 opera performance leaders in 2021 and 2022.

Zheng's work won first prize for individual performance in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Small Opera Competition and the gold award for an individual performance in the Second National Red Plum Award Chinese Opera Competition. She was also selected for the program last year for the same work and is the only drama actor in the autonomous region to be selected.
