Baotou strives to stabilize employment for decades
Baotou has been committed to improving systems in employment security, entrepreneurship support, training, and employment services in the past 10 years.
During this period, more than 450,000 new urban jobs were created in the city, and the registered urban unemployment rate remained under 3.9 percent.
Over the past 10 years, Baotou has issued a total of 5.9 billion yuan ($859.08 million) in guaranteed loans for entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurship has created 217,400 jobs. In order to provide more convenient loan services, the entrepreneurship guaranteed loan cloud platform was officially launched in Baotou on Oct 26, 2016. It is the second in the country and the first in Inner Mongolia autonomous region to run a professional information service system for loans.
In the same period, the city has reduced payment expenses of corporate unemployment insurance by more than 1.5 billion yuan for more than 15,750 insured companies. It also distributed 1.1 billion yuan in subsidies to 14,827 struggling enterprises to stabilize jobs. Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2019, the city has also provided financial support and epidemic prevention supplies for enterprises.
In addition, Baotou is conducting a series of vocational training courses for women, people with employment difficulties, migrant workers in rural areas, registered poor laborers, and migrant workers. After passing the training, they will get a training certificate and a special vocational ability certificate and their employability will be improved.
