Baotou has carried out crackdowns and special rectification work on serious violent crimes, telecommunication network fraud, and other illegal crimes since the 18th National Congress of the CPC (2012).

The city destroyed six criminal gangs and arrested 172 criminal suspects last year, more than any other city in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

With the development of science and technology, telecommunication network fraud has become a new form of illegal crime affecting the average person.

On Dec 10, 2021, Baotou established the first professional sub-bureau in the autonomous region to investigate and combat telecommunication cybercrime. In the first half of this year, the sub-bureau intercepted more than 925,000 scam calls, stopped 28,000 payment accounts, and stopped payments of 1.05 billion yuan ($152.44 million).

Additionally, in the past 10 years, Baotou has devoted itself to serving the development of the private economy and carrying out measures to benefit individuals and enterprises.

As a result, Baotou's government services have become more efficient, the business environment has improved, and traffic has become smoother.

The city's public security system introduced four batches of 106 measures to benefit individuals and enterprises, optimized 35 work processes, and made 235 service items available in one go.

At the beginning of 2021, due to the impact of the epidemic, there was often congestion at the entrance and exit of the G6 high-speed road. Guided by a special class of police, the entry time was shortened, and an average of 7,000 vehicles transporting production materials was allowed to enter the factory area safely and smoothly every day.
