Baotou city creates 39,000 jobs in first three quarters
The municipal government of Baotou city – located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – has reportedly made every effort this year to implement various policies to stabilize the workforce and pave the way for the expansion of employment.
In the first three quarters, 39,000 new urban jobs were created, with 97.6 percent of the annual target for various related tasks being achieved. Among 16 goals and tasks, nine have completed their annual tasks and the results from five indicators – including the issuance of entrepreneurial guarantee loans – have ranked first in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
A total of 306 job fairs were held in the city in the nine months, especially for key enterprises and major projects – including Hongyuan New Materials (Baotou) Co and Inner Mongolia Tongwei High Purity Crystalline Silicon Co. This has ensured 17,900 person times of employment through multiple channels and has achieved full coverage of employment guarantees for key projects.
A social insurance subsidy policy for flexible employment was fully implemented in the city, while unemployment insurance benefits and subsidies of 119 million yuan were reviewed and granted to 132,000 unemployed people.
A total of 10 measures – such as supporting entrepreneurship, cultivating labor brands and improving the ability and quality of labor in rural and pastoral areas – have helped increase the employment income of labor in those areas. Moreover, a total of 214,000 farmers and herdsmen were transferred to employment in the city, completing 106.9 percent of the annual target.
In addition, Baotou was the first in the autonomous region to launch the "Entrepreneurial Baotou" cloud service platform – realizing the whole process, as well as the integration and information closed-loop management of entrepreneurial management services.
