The district has successively won the honorary titles of "National Model County of Greening", "National Demonstration City of Greening" and a number of others, while its forest coverage rate stands at 35.5 percent, the highest in Baotou.

Shiguai district is full of scenic spots. In addition to Baotou Ancient City, the largest folk culture scenic spot in Baotou, a large number of ecological and cultural tourism sites, such as the Daqingshan Film and Television Base and Rong King Cashmere Culture Museum, are located here.
