The Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced the list of 53 national industrial tourism demonstration bases, which included the Baogang Industrial Tourist Attraction in Baotou.
Only two enterprises from North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region were selected.
In recent years, Baogang has invested nearly 40 million yuan ($5.59 million) to build the "Work Together to Build Baogang" exhibition hall, Baotou Rare Earth Museum, No 1 Blast Furnace Culture Exhibition Hall and a large number of new landmarks for Baogang's industrial culture.
The attraction provides tourists with patriotic education and industrial tourism experiences through venue visits and production line browsing.
It has won the national AAA scenic spot qualification, was listed among the first group of primary and secondary school students' research and practice education bases in the autonomous region, was listed as the first research and study travel base in Baotou, and has earned a number of other accolades, becoming the face of the city and the autonomous region's industrial tourism.
