Baotou approved for establishment of national e-commerce pilot zone

The State Council approved the establishment of a cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone in Baotou, marking a major breakthrough amid efforts to create a new platform for opening up in the city.

The cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone is expected to become a national leader in terms of technical standards, business processes, regulatory models and information construction of cross-border e-commerce transactions, payments, logistics, customs clearance, tax refunds, and foreign exchange settlement.

In recent years, Baotou has attached great importance to the development of cross-border e-commerce. The city has invested in building a special customs supervision site and a cross-border e-commerce comprehensive service platform and introduced policies to support the development of cross-border e-commerce.

The approval will open up a new development platform for foreign trade and aid in the high-quality development of Baotou's digital economy and open economy.
