The fifth Plenary Session of the 13th CPC Baotou Committee was held on Dec 26, when the Baotou Municipal Economic Work Conference was also held.

Some 47 members of the municipal Party committee and eight alternate members attended the plenary session.

The plenary session was presided over by the standing committee of the municipal Party committee. Ding Xiufeng, secretary of the committee and Zhang Rui, deputy secretary of the committee and mayor, gave speeches.

Discussing the work report commissioned by the standing committee of the municipal Party committee, the plenary session summarized the economic work in 2022 and deployed the economic work for next year.

It was pointed out by the plenary session that the overall requirements of the city's economic work next year included firmly prioritizing ecological and green development, comprehensively deepening reform and opening-up and expanding the port economy – as well as making every effort to build "the world's rare earth capital" and "the world's green silicon capital".

Additionally, the plenary session stressed the need to implement projects and expand total economic output; implement innovation-driven development strategies; build industrial clusters and create a livable smart city.

Party organizations at all levels in the city will now aim to complete the goals and tasks for economic and social development and promote high-quality development.
