The Second Session of the 16th Baotou Municipal People's Congress successfully completed everything on its agenda and concluded on Jan 4.

After the congress approved the list of superintendent voters, deputy superintendent voters and scrutineers, 54 deputies were elected.

Li Xinliang was elected secretary general of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, Lin Li as director of the Municipal Supervision Commission, Bi Chen as president of the Municipal Intermediate People's Court, as well as 11 officials as members of the Standing Committee of the 16th Baotou Municipal People's Congress.

At the session, a series of reports were discussed and various topics were voted on. Among them, the 2023 budget for the city, the work report from the Standing Committee of the Baotou Municipal People's Congress, the work report from the Baotou Intermediate People's Court, as well as the work report from the Baotou Municipal People's Procuratorate.

It has been reported that Baotou will implement an innovation-driven development strategy in the city, accelerate scientific and technological innovation, and introduce and cultivate talents. At the same time, the city will continue to improve its business environment.
