In order to relieve the operating pressure of sports enterprises and improve national fitness, the Baotou bureau of sports has officially launched its National Free Fitness Activity Month on Jan 14.

During this month, all tickets and fees for fitness stores or other fitness venues will be fully subsidized for residents by the bureau.

Huang Weixiu, head of the industry section of the bureau, announced that local residents can open the WeChat applet "Sports Deer City (运动鹿城)" to get free activity codes, and go to any nearby designated venue to exercise, free of admission fees and venue fees.

A resident surnamed Cui, who is playing basketball at the Fengsheng Basketball Sports Center in the city, said, "Usually, it costs 200 yuan ($30) to rent half of the basketball court for two hours. This time, we got to play for free."

In addition, for the first time in Baotou, the bureau has issued sports consumer coupons worth 50 yuan, 80 yuan and other denominations to the public this month.

Other consumption vouchers provided by the bureau can be used at nearly 100 designated venues throughout the city, providing fitness services in more than 10 sports, including swimming and badminton.
