Ice, snow activities rise in popularity in Baotou
During this Spring Festival holiday from Jan 21 to 27, major ski resorts and ice skating halls in Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, have seen peak visitor throughput.
At the Kunlun International Ski Resort, ski circles, snowball fights and other family-friendly ice and snow activities have risen in popularity.

"It's the Spring Festival, and I feel very happy that I came here with my family to ski and play snow sports," Sun Qing, a resident of Baotou, said.
Walking into the Saikhantal Ice and Snow Park, people are eager to ice skate, ride snow mobiles and do other recreational activities, despite the cold weather.

According to Wu Wei, director of the operation department at the Saikhantal Cultural Tourism Center, more and more people have participated in ice and snow activities during the Spring Festival holiday, with more than 1,000 people entering the park every day.
"In addition to the ice and snow activities, the park has also arranged special performances to enrich the residents' lives during the holiday," Wu said.
Wang Yu, a resident, said that there were many projects in the park. There is a variety of activities that both adults and children can participate in, which brings back his childhood memories.
