At the beginning of 2023, production lines belonging to Baogang Group are as busy as ever.

Since the end of January, the steel making branch of Baogang Pipe Co has broken two production records, providing sufficient billet raw materials for the downstream production of finished steel pipes.

Since the end of the Spring Festival, the sales front end of the steel pipe company has been linked with the production back end, and the steel production capacity has been maximized by optimizing contract orders and scientific production scheduling.

This year, the company will also reduce costs in nine areas, including procurement costs and energy consumption, with a target profit of 100 million yuan ($14.75 million).

According to statistics, from Jan 21 to Feb 2, the output of pig iron, crude steel and finished products of Baogang United Steel Co reached about 521,500 metric tons, 538,100 tons and 525,400 tons respectively – all exceeding demand.

"This year, our plan is to produce 14.77 million tons of iron, 16 million tons of steel, and 15.14 million tons of commercial batch materials. The production at the beginning of January laid a firm foundation for our company in 2023," said Xue Yunlong, chief dispatcher of the general control room of the manufacturing department of Baogang United Steel Co.
